Bloodstock 2024 – Band Feature: Black Hole Divers
Bloodstock Open Air 2024 is right around the corner. Taking place August 8th to August 11th, the UK’s premier metal festival has, once again, delivered a stellar line-up. Featuring four stages of music and a litany of bands from within the rock and metal world, alongside numerous other forms of entertainment (such as official bin jousting)! There are a lot of bands on the bill, and some you may not be that familiar with, which is where we come in. As is our yearly custom, we will be running features on many of the bands playing, aiming to give you some insight into who they are, what they do, and why they are a must see at the festival.
Black Hole Divers
Bloodstock 2024 is getting a hefty infusion of fast and melodic heaviness, with elements of thrash and hardcore punk, as the five-piece Brazilian crossover band, Black Hole Divers will be bringing the noise to the New Blood stage this year.
Formed and based in Ireland since 2023, they mantra is based in aggressive rhythms with social and political ways of thinking. Having a wealth of experience already within the band, there was no hanging about for Black Hole Divers, and writing music/playing live was all they focused on.
This, and the desire to get more gig experience, led to them entering the Ireland Metal 2 the Masses. A five-track head banger of an EP called ‘In Punk We Thrash’ was released at the start of the year, and Black Hole Divers set about perfecting their live performances. While their expectations of going far in the Ireland MT2Ms might have been low, their lovable and exciting crossover sound won over everyone. Resulting in them winning the entire competition and booking their place at Bloodstock.
It’s a huge deal for such a young band, but just another stepping stone on route to domination, as they’re already working on new tracks in anticipation for a full-length debut album release in 2025. For now though, get ready to go hard on the Saturday of the festival as Black Hole Divers tear up the stage. Don’t take our word for it though. We spoke to Black Hole Divers about what it means to play Bloodstock 2024, what the festival means overall, and what attendees can expect from their show.
To play Bloodstock this year is definitely a dream come true, such a traditional festival, that is huge for the metal scene but still give space and respect the underground and new bands. To be invited for playing over there is a honour for us, we could not be more hyped honestly
Bloodstock means a stand for the heavy music, a place where great bands and great people can meet to celebrate metal and show to the world that metal and the scene are fucking alive! Is a unique chance of gathering people with similar music taste, and we know we are not the mainstream guys, and bloodstock feels like a place we can call our own!
The attendees can expect some high energy crossover exploding on the New Blood stage. We gonna jump on there and bash some music and some truth, giving all we can and showing that the underground is alive!!
