Every year, the New Blood stage at Bloodstock throws up so many delights. You can go watch a set, see a band you’ve never heard of before, and come away with your new favourite act. It’s an opportunity like no other and Norwich’s Uridium are grabbing it with both hands.
A five-piece thrash inspired energetic metal band, they have been smashing stages up and down the country since around 2017 and claimed their spot at Bloodstock by winning the extremely competitive East Anglian Metal 2 the Masses competition.
That wasn’t the only notable thing they did this year though! They also released a brand-new five-track EP called ‘In for the Kill’ in March and have been keeping busy throughout. Famous for their intense, exciting, and high-energy shows, Uridium’s influences range from Maiden, Metallica, Sabbath, Motorehead and Priest. Basically, if you like hard rockin’ metal, Uridium have what you need.
They will be playing the Friday of the festival and we suggest you get your neck muscles warmed up now. Don’t take our word for it though. We spoke to the band about what it means to play the festival, what Bloodstock means to them, and what attendees can expect from their show, and they had this to say:
To play Bloodstock is a dream the whole band share and hearing our name called as the winner of M2TM East Anglia was a surreal and amazing moment for us all. The whole ethos of Bloodstock being “by the fans for the fans” shows so much respect to a genre we all love and we can’t wait to be a part of that on Friday 11th August on the New Blood Stage.
A Uridium audience can expect high energy thrash inspired Heavy Metal from start to finish with inspiration drawn from legends of the genre such as Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motorhead, Slayer, Judas Priest…the list goes on. If you want to experience Old-School inspired Heavy Metal come and see us on Friday 11th August. You will not be disappointed!
