It might be the smallest stage at Bloodstock, but the Jägermeister stage often showcases the most exciting bands of the entire weekend. Bands who grab the opportunity given to them, pile on to the small stage, and give it their all. Often grabbing so much attention that they are asked back in subsequent years in an even higher position.

There is something quite hilarious about seeing four or five members of a band trying to fit on its stage, a problem that won’t exist for This Summit Fever.

Hitting the Jägermeister stage on the Friday of the festival, the duo are high-octane and dripping in heavy fuzz rock sounds. While ‘heavy fuzz rock’ might be the simplest way to describe the sound of This Summit Fever, it’s not quite fair to limit them to one specific genre or another.

Simply put, they’re a band with ideas and plenty of creativity to realise them. Think a little bit of grunge, touches of garage, post, stoner rock, and so much more.

With no bass, it might be hard to believe that a two-piece could make the racket they do, but seeing is believing, and the Jägermeister is sure to be packed out when they start. Especially as they have tracks from their latest EP ‘Distraction Rituals’ to share.

A loose concept EP about society’s tendency to ignore problems and focus on immediate pleasures instead. You can read our full review here, as we described it as being:

Filled with groovy head-bangers, trippy and gurning body shakers, instrumental girth, fuzzy groove, energetic vocals, and moody, dramatic bangs.

One of the most anticipated bands of the weekend. We will be checking out This Summit Fever and so should you. Don’t just take our word for it though. We spoke to the band about what it means to play the festival, what Bloodstock means to them, and what attendees can expect from their show, and they had this to say:

It is a great honour for This Summit Fever to be chosen to play at Bloodstock. For us to represent ourselves and our underground scene peers at such a prestigious UK music event is not something to be taken lightly. And we don’t take it lightly. At all.

We are not technical in style nor the heaviest band on the bill. However, we believe in our songs and we give every ounce of energy that our aging bodies can muster when we play live.

To quote Jimmy Bower of Down – The power of the riff compels us.
