Hardcore… Murda Style.
It’s Street Soldier and the New Blood stage may not be left standing once they have finished laying waste to it.
Hailing from Yorkshire, Street Soldier might sit within the hardcore world for simplicity, but their sound is much more nuanced. They can be groovy, they can be punky, and they can be guttural, incorporating a wide array of genres into their music. Variety is a major component of the Street Soldier sound and it has resulted in them gaining a huge following around the country.
The name of Street Soldier is so beloved and respected, it would have you believe that this band is at least a decade into their careers, but they only released their first EP in 2018. That EP, One Man Gang, was a foot stomp to the back of the head and was the starting gun for a prolific release run that brings us right to 2023.
What’s really important to note though, is that Street Soldier aren’t just your average ‘stompy-stomp’ hardcore band. Aside from the eclectic mix of genres and styles, they also deliver meaningful lyrics and focus on real-world/life issues. Street Soldier aren’t afraid to talk about things that affect each and every one of us, and because of that, they connect to listeners on a deeper level.
For all the intensity and aggression that exists in this band, they are brimming with positivity and relatability. Their dedicated fanbase know this already, but there’s still plenty of room for even members of the SLDR crew.
That being said, if you’re after 30-minutes of carnage, you’re going to get it.
STRENGTH.LOYALTY.DISCIPLINE.RESPECT
Don’t take out word for it though, we spoke to them about what it means to play the festival, what Bloodstock means to them, and what attendees can expect from their show. They had this to say:
Playing at Bloodstock for the SLDR Worldwide Family means the world to us. It’s an absolute honour to showcase our music at such a renowned festival alongside some of our favourite bands.
So many of our amazing SLDR family are already messaged us to say they’re going to be there and we’re looking forward to playing to a new audience in the passionate and dedicated Heavy Metal community at B.O.A.
For those who’ve never seen us live before, get ready for pure energy, excitement, and some potential broken bones – all with a smile on your face! We’re playing after some mint up and coming bands from around the country so we’re going to bring the fucking MOSH.
You can catch us smashing up the New Blood stage on Friday at 7.30 and you’ll probably spot us roaming the streets of the Bloodstock camping causing mayhem or around the main arena and Bloodstock Merch stand so come say hi muthafuckaz!
After Bloodstock, we’re hitting the road for a UK tour with Negative Frame and No Relief. We’ll be rocking cities like Norwich, Leicester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds, Newport, Southampton, and London. If you dig our sound, come out and show your support!
Our new record ‘Original Murda Material’ is out now featuring seven tracks of pure Murda. Can’t wait to see all of you at Bloodstock in a few weeks! It’s going to be an epic time. Cheers!
