The earth shakes, the heavens open, and darkness pours into the world. Outergods are here and none of us will be the same again.
It’s incredible, the strides that Outergods have made, in such a short amount of time. The Nottingham extreme metal band formed during the lockdown era of the past few years and turned a ton of heads with their two singles; Catacombs of Madness and Faceless Entities. An ancient horror had awoken, and it combined elements of crushing death metal, scathing black metal, garish grindcore, and devastating industrialism.
The band, which includes members of Raised by Owls, Evil Scarecrow, Lost Outrider and Antre, got the attention of mammoth label, Prosthetic Records. A pairing made in hell, and the label will be releasing Outergods much anticipated debut album, ‘A Kingdom Built Upon the Wreckage of Heaven,’ later this year.
We’ve already had several tastes of the delicious chaos that this album will bring, and these tracks are going to sound immense live. If you feel you are up to it. Dare you stare into the infernal machine? Can you stop your mind from slipping into madness upon experiencing Outergods live? Come to the New Blood stage on Sunday and join the pulsating and delirious mass of head-bangers.
It’s going to be horrible, in all the best ways possible. Don’t take out word for it though, we spoke to them about what it means to play the festival, what Bloodstock means to them, and what attendees can expect from their show. They had this to say:
It means a lot to us to play this festival. Bloodstock is such an iconic festival, not just in the metal scene, but as a festival in general, so to be a part of it right at the beginning of our band’s life means the world. We all make the pilgrimage to Bloodstock each year, and many of us have played before in our other bands (Raised by Owls, Evil Scarecrow), but this time we’ll be subjecting everyone to different type of chaos. It’ll be 30 minutes of chaotic and abrasive noise. People definitely can expect an assault on the senses.
