It’s so cool that the five-piece modern deathcore maniacs that make up North Wales’ Dystopian Sun had no intention of being a live band when they formed in 2018. Yet, the lure of the British live scene and our wealth of incredible venues changed that in 2022. Although it’s not like they had much choice before, being one of the many bands on the bill that couldn’t do much outside of being online for a few years.

It turns out that live was just where Dystopian Sun where meant to be and they’ve been incredibly busy ever since. You won’t hear a negative thing said about their live shows, so it’s no major surprise that they smashed the competition out of the way to win the North Wales Metal 2 the Masses and book their place at Bloodstock.

Worthless, Tormenter, Lifeline… Dystopian Sun have the songs to make the New Blood stage shake and they’re unmissable for those who want to feel like their face is being melted off.

They’ve worked incredibly hard for this, and it’s easy to tell that this is all about building on the foundation of this band. The New Blood stage on the Sunday of the festival is not the end of the Dystopian Sun journey, it’s only the bloody beginning.

Do not miss out on seeing Dystopian Sun. Don’t take out word for it though, we spoke to them about what it means to play the festival, what Bloodstock means to them, and what attendees can expect from their show. They had this to say:

The sight of our name up there on the poster with some of the world’s biggest bands is insane. Bloodstock means everything to us as a band and as individuals. Since we were young, we all watched bands on Kerrang or Scuzz and dreamed of writing and performing just like them. We all have an understanding that music is something that if given the opportunity we would like to do for the rest of our lives. Bloodstock is giving us a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join their line-up and hopefully make connections that will enable us to reach the goals that we have set out for ourselves. All of us in the band are driven and are extremely excited for what Bloodstock has to offer.

Bloodstock has been the talk between all of us since we were teens! But we never thought we would get the opportunity to play the festival let alone this early in the bands career. For some of us this will be our first time at the festival so to be able to say that we are playing a stage there on our first time visiting is incredible and seeing our name on the poster has been unreal, under some of the industry leading bands that we grew up listening to!

We are mainly a deathcore band, but we do have a varied discography with songs that would fall into the death metal, Metalcore & Heavy rock categories. We play every show like it is our last. The people watching us at Bloodstock can expect a high-energy, eclectic display from 5 guys doing what they do best, throwing down some hard-hitting heavy riffs with monstrous drums and insane lead lines with vocals so demonic you will think you have arrived at the gates of hell to greet the devil himself.
