Bloodstock 2022 Band Feature: Tribe of Ghosts
Bloodstock Open Air 2022 takes place from August 11th and August 14th with a line-up that might be one of the best the festival has ever put on. A wide array of rock and metal acts spread across four stages, it’s looking likely to be a weekend not to be missed. Pick up tickets here.
The New Blood stage is all about the best that the unsigned and underground rock and metal scene has to offer. You could spend your entire weekend at that stage and easily get your money’s worth of quality music.
For many bands it’s the culmination of a long Metal 2 the Masses journey, one that ends with the reward of playing the festival. One such band is Tribe of Ghosts, an industrial/post metal four-piece who booked their spot by winning the Brighton region of the Metal 2 the Masses.
Active since 2018, the band’s current artistic vision came to fruition at the beginning of 2022. Combining electronic soundscapes, eclectic extreme metal influences and pop vocals to haunting and devastating effects – a brutal, dystopian soundtrack inspired by fiction such as ‘I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream’, ‘1984’, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ and ‘Fahrenheit 451’.
They first showcased this with the track ‘Cold’, telling the story of a dystopian society being battery-farmed into submission. The method in question being organ harvesting. A track that we thought was excellent when we checked it out.
That was just the start and Tribe of Ghosts picked up where they left off with the next single, Reign. This time telling the story of a totalitarian society on the brink of collapse, coinciding with a cataclysmic storm.
This shift in tone, and the clear talent that exists in Tribe of Ghosts, has resulted in them earning their spot on the New Blood stage at the festival. There’s a buzz around Tribe of Ghosts, deservedly so, as you can tell big things are in store for this band. There’s a chance that this might be one of the sets that you should have been there for, so don’t miss it.
We spoke to the band about what it means to play the festival this year and what fans can expect from their show. They had this to say:
We’re beyond excited to perform at Bloodstock this year – we’ve worked incredibly hard to establish and find our sound and we can’t wait to unleash it on the New Blood Stage. Be prepared for a plethora of euphoric highs, crushing lows and be ready to expect the unexpected.
