Bloodstock 2022 Band Feature: Sulvain
Bloodstock Open Air 2022 takes place from August 11th and August 14th with a line-up that might be one of the best the festival has ever put on. A wide array of rock and metal acts spread across four stages, it’s looking likely to be a weekend not to be missed. Pick up tickets here.
A NOLA-grunge band, Sulvain have made incredible headway in the short amount of time they have existed. Hailing from Northamptonshire, United Kingdom and inspired by bands such as Alice in Chains, Black Label Society, Down, Kyuss, Korn and many others.
You don’t get a lot of this in UK let alone playing Bloodstock 2022, so for that reason alone, Sulvain standout.
So far the band have released two singles; ‘Fifth Whiskey’ and ‘Depths of Hell’, and recently recorded their debut album with Neil Hudson at Initiate Audio and Media which is due to be released later this year. They earned their spot on the New Blood stage at the festival this year by powering through the Leicester Metal 2 the Masses. One of the countries most competitive, proving that there are no easy rides when it comes to the competition.
Playing on Sunday, Sulvain’s brand of sludgy grunge might just be the noise you need to bring your energy levels back up. We asked them what it means to play the festival and what fans can expect from their set. This is what they had to say:
We are extremely honoured to be representing Leicester and Northamptonshire on the New Blood Stage on Sunday the 14th following our achievement of winning the Metal 2 The Masses competition in Leicester. This will be the debut open air festival in the band’s career.
Bloodstock is the heart of supporting the underground scene, giving bands, such as ourselves the opportunity to perform on a bigger platform, to which we are incredibly privileged. Having seen many top tier bands grace the New Blood, SOPHIE and RJD stages and to become part of that is a damn dream come true.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Simon Yarwood and his team for running Leicester’s Metal 2 The Masses and to Simon Hall and the Bloodstock team for putting in the tremendous amount of work into helping keep the scene alive and well.
Lastly, we want to thank all of our family, close friends, partners and fans for all the ongoing support we have received from the beginning.. We are eternally grateful and we wouldn’t be where we are without it.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the New Blood Stage.
