Bloodstock 2022 Band Feature: Draconian Reign
Bloodstock Open Air 2022 takes place from August 11th and August 14th with a line-up that might be one of the best the festival has ever put on. A wide array of rock and metal acts spread across four stages, it’s looking likely to be a weekend not to be missed. Pick up tickets here.
What do we praise Bloodstock for consistently doing? Giving young and hungry bands the chance to play the best metal festival in UK. The long-running and location-spanning Metal 2 the Masses events is a major part of that but it’s not the only way a band can play the festival.
Submit a CD and if you’re good enough, Bloodstock will come calling which is exactly what happened with dark symphonic deathcore outfit Draconian Reign. A band that has only been active since 2019 but have made one hell of a name for themselves in that short amount of time. Even more startling when you consider a large portion of that period was pandemic-stricken.
From Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, the five-piece released their debut EP, Necromantic earlier this year and that has only helped garner them even more attention. For good reason too as it’s a beast of a release with some really interesting ideas that mark this band out as something fresh and exciting in the world of deathcore.
All of this has resulted in them scoring a spot on the New Blood stage on the Saturday of the festival. Well deserved and sure to be a banger show. Don’t take our word for it though, we spoke to the band about playing the festival and what fans can expect from their show.
We have all been attending Bloodstock for years and are so excited to play the UK’s best metal festival! We are very influenced by a lot of music outside of Deathcore so expect a lot of theatricality with your blastbeats and breakdowns!
