Bloodstock 2022 Band Feature: Collected
Bloodstock Open Air 2022 takes place from August 11th and August 14th with a line-up that might be one of the best the festival has ever put on. A wide array of rock and metal acts spread across four stages, it’s looking likely to be a weekend not to be missed. Pick up tickets here.
While they may not have won the Essex Metal 2 the Masses this year, no-one can deny that Collected have earned their spot on the New Blood stage. Once again, getting so close but coming up short, the dream seemed to be over for the modern metal 5-piece. Yet, when one door closes, another one opens, and they were put on the standby list.
Fast forward a bit and the call came in, Collected were going to Bloodstock and everyone who had heard or see this band play live, nodded their heads. About bloody time.
Forming in 2015, Collected built up their reputation with energetic and engaging music that mixes modern rock ideas, alternative attitudes, metal groove and melody driven heaviness. They released a slew of singles over the years, all while crushing the underground and becoming one of hottest names in the Essex scene.
That led to the release of their debut EP ‘Say When’ earlier this year. The title track we summed up with the following review:
Expect the unexpected with Collected. So, when they start with heavy metalcore groove and then immediately drop into a melodic funk and dance beat you won’t be completely shocked. Of course, it’s just the start as they hit the chorus and power up for hard and rockier singalong. Further along, the eclectic unit get chunkier and much more abrasive but still keep the core catchiness ever present.
With this release and now Bloodstock, it feels like 2022 is Collected’s year and there’s no doubting that this is just another stepping stone for this band as they look to push themselves to even greater heights.
Sure to be one hell of an energetic start to the Saturday of the festival, Collected will surprise quite a few people when they hit the New Blood stage. Their excitement is infectious, just read what they had to say about playing it when we spoke to them:
When Simon (from Metal 2 Masses) got in touch we were speechless. So, when we say we can’t put into words how excited and thankful we are for the opportunity, we mean it literally!! It’s fucking Bloodstock!! One of the most legendary festivals that so many of our heroes have been a part of, it’s always been a dream of ours to play.
