Bloodstock 2022 Band Feature: Collapse the Sky
Bloodstock Open Air 2022 takes place from August 11th and August 14th with a line-up that might be one of the best the festival has ever put on. A wide array of rock and metal acts spread across four stages, it’s looking likely to be a weekend not to be missed. Pick up tickets here.
This year’s New Blood stage is packed with talent. A veritable who’s who of up and coming, unsigned and independent bands who have earned their way to the festival. Pop your head into the tent at any stage of the day and you’re sure to see something that catches your attention.
One such band might be Norwich’s Collapse the Sky who showcase intensity with a sound that is belligerent, groovy and very heavy. They haven’t really stopped since their inception in 2016. Releasing their debut album ‘Seven Eyes’ in 2016, their sophomore album ‘Consumed’ in 2018 and most recently, their third album ‘White Flags’.
That album there, released earlier in 2022 seemed to mark a turning point for Collapse the Sky. Refreshed and as hungry as ever, free from the confines of the pandemic period, they set out to dominate and got their just rewards by winning the East Anglia portion of Metal 2 the Masses.
Hitting the New Blood stage on the Saturday of the festival, one listen to White Flags will tell you all you need to know. This is going to be 30 minutes of mayhem. If you’re hungry for something guaranteed to open up some big and wild pits, Collapse the Sky have what you desire.
We spoke to the band and asked them what it meant to be playing the festival this year and what fans can expect from their show. This is what they had say:
We are so excited to be playing Bloodstock this year. We’ve been fans of the festival for many years and some of our favourite bands are on the line up, so to be featuring alongside them is amazing. We released our new album White Flags a few months ago and will be blasting through some tracks from that. We are hyped to bring our energy and ferocity to the New Blood Stage so get ready to bang those heads!
