Bloodstock 2021 Band Feature: Fellowship
If there is something we always desperately want at Bloodstock, it is more power metal. 2021 has a few bands on the bill but one of the most exciting is the five-piece unit known as Fellowship.
Formed in 2019, and taking influence from bands like Twilight Force, Rhapsody of Fire and Majestica, Fellowship combine the classic, uplifting sound of symphonic European power metal with emotionally grounded lyricism and melodic guitar work.
Fellowship put smiles on faces. Their music is incredibly uplifting and feel-good. Their debut self-titled EP was released in 2020 and featured one of our personal favourite power metal tracks in some time – Glint.
However, it was their 2020 cover of ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight?’ that really put them on the map. The Elton John track from The Lion King is known far and wide so it was very interesting to hear Fellowship give it a power metal spin.
They then dropped another single called ‘Glory Days’ at the start of 2021 which was, unsurprisingly, a banger. Now, we eagerly await the release of their full-length debut album later this year.
When asked about what fans can expect from them come Bloodstock 2021, they had this to say:
Symphonic, vocals-driven power metal that you can sing along to without even knowing the songs. Melodically led songs with solos for days, we combine elements of Twilight Force, Sabaton and Gloryhammer all wrapped up in themes of mental health and self-worth. We want the audience to leave the gig feeling as good as we did playing it.
Playing the New Blood stage on Sunday 15th August, it won’t matter how tired you are, Fellowship will inject you with energy and smiles.
