Bloodstock 2021 Band Feature: Boycott the Baptist
How much noise can two people make? Well, if Boycott the Baptist are anything to go by… a hell of a lot. Based in Carlisle, the grindcore/punk/noise 2-piece have been active since 2013 and when we say active, we mean active.
Having played over 250 shows, it took a pandemic to stop them.
With several EPs, demos and albums (the latest being released at the start of this year) under their belt, Boycott the Baptist have the music to back up their live shows. Think Pig Destroyer, Eyehategod and Black Flag for some idea of what you’re in for with these two.
There’s not a lot to say beyond that. The Jägermeister stage is going to be a seething mass of chaos so you’re going to want to be there. Hell, we might even see a rare thing take place there. What are we talking about? Well… if you consider the unbridled raging energy that exists in this band then the infamous circle pit that goes completely around the stage might be the sort of thing that happens here.
Hell, be there on Sunday and help start it. As the band themselves say:
Like watching a car accident, you shouldn’t watch, but you can’t take your eyes off of it. Alternatively Napalm Death with more sense of humour.
