Interview
1. Congratulations on winning the Northants leg of the M2TM and earning your slot on the Bloodstock New Blood Stage. What made you decide to take part?
This was our third time entering the competition and every year it just gets better. It’s a great atmosphere and it’s great to see all the support that fans are bringing to the local scene. Bloodstock has always been one of our first major goals that we wanted to achieve in order to take our music to the next level. This competition has pushed us harder each year and given us the drive to achieve more and more.
2. What were some of the highlights of your competition run?
During the semi final we setup on stage and did our usual line check and when we started our set we looked out and the room was packed full and there were so many Reaper-X T-shirt’s in the crowd it was a surreal experience and one that we will forever be thankful for.
3. Describe the feeling if you can upon hearing your name read out as the winners?
There are no words that can explain the feelings and emotions of hearing that we were the winners of our region. I think each and every one of us went through every emotion possible within five minutes. This moment was the culmination of our lives work up until that point and it was absolutely amazing to achieve something as monumental as winning Metal 2 the Masses.
4. How big of an opportunity is playing the New Blood Stage for Reaper-X? We’ve seen some bands really grow from it over the years!
To us this is our big moment to show the world our music, first impressions have always been important to us and we want people to leave after our set blown off of their feet by our music and performance. This is a platform for us and is only the beginning of what we have in store!
5. What can Bloodstockers expect from you come festival time? Why should they come see you?
We always bring a high energy performance when we are on stage, we play to one person as if we are playing to 10,000 people. We like to make our fans feel involved through out the whole performance and we will make sure they can’t take their eyes off of us during our set. If people come check us out then they won’t be disappointed!!!
6. Are you regular attendees to the festival or will this be your first time?
I think apart from Jake this will actually be our first time attending the festival and we could be more excited!
7. Are you hanging about all weekend? If so who are you most looking forward to seeing?
We will be around the whole weekend!! Excited to see lots of bands as between the whole band we have mixed tastes. Anthrax will be incredible, Parkway Drive, Krysthla and The Scorpions to name a few.
8. What does the rest of 2019 look like for Reaper-X? Shows? Releases?
We have begun writing album number which is pushing us to our limits creatively. We want to make the next album 1000 times bigger than what we achieved with Rise, we also have plenty of shows lined up all over the country as we intend to keep the momentum rolling and visit as many new places as possible.
