Bloodstock 2017 Band Feature/Interview: The Infernal Sea
Bloodstock is the premier metal festival in the UK, showcasing the cream of rock & metal across a wide spectrum of genres. The 2017 edition takes place from the 10th to the 13th of August. Head over to the festival’s website to find out much more & pick up tickets, but be quick as it’s close to selling out!
The line-up this year is one of the best the festival has ever managed to put together. With a huge range of established & up-and-coming bands spread across the four days. Kicking off on Thursday evening it is well worth getting to the festival early to see the handful of bands playing. One such band is the incredible UK black metal act, The Infernal Sea. There isn’t a whole lot of black metal at the festival this year but what is there can be considered the cream of the scene. The Infernal Sea are an intense watch & sure to be one of the highlights of the entire weekend.
We’re very proud to bring you an interview with The Infernal Sea.
1. Tell us a bit about yourselves. How’d you get started as a band?
We are The Infernal Sea, hailing from the vast Fenland of East Anglia we were brought together with a mutual appreciation for the extreme arts. Since the release of our album ‘The Great Mortality’ via Cacophonous Records we have continued to perfect our particular niche in BM, whilst bringing the intensity of the record to each live ritual.
2. How are you feeling about playing Bloodstock this year?
Anticipation is high. We are honoured to be able to showcase our art in front of so many people. The opportunity to provide sonic savagery on the opening night will not be wasted.
3. What can people expect from your set?
Plague ridden filth and suffering.
4. What bands (if any) are you hoping to check out while you’re there?
We shall be watching Possessed, Abhorrent Decimation, Inquisition, Ghost, Xentrix, Macabre, Obituary, Battle Beast, Testament, Annihilator and Kreator.
5. What’s the future plans for the band?
We are in the process of writing material for our next full length album and we have a ‘yet to be announced’ release and tour planned for the winter.
We’d like to thank The Infernal Sea for taking the time to speak with us. Make sure you check them out at Bloodstock & on their future tours. You can keep up to date with the band’s touring schedule using BandsInTown or Songkick.
