1. How did you get started as a band?

The band started when our vocalist decided to start a brand new band to write music that he liked, from there we just started practising and eventually found the members that are in Virtue In Vain today.

2. How would you describe your sound?

Our sound is within the Metalcore genre, however we lean more to the progressive side of metalcore with our latest music. Our sound is heavy, raw and energetic which we feel comes across in our music both live and recorded.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

The bands that influenced us most are: Make Them Suffer, The Devil Wears Prada, Architects, Napoleon, For the Fallen Dreams, Crystal Lake & Currents. Plus many other bands we have played with over the many years.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

It has helped us reach a bigger audience. It helps allow more people to access a bigger range of content which for us has allowed us to get our music out into the world easier.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

We all do various different activities outside of this band. We all play games online together to decompress after work. Some of us do some creative hobbies such as photography and art. As whole we like to keep busy and active when we are not making music.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

Right now we are working on our next EP and working on a few tours that will be announced later this year. We are really excited about what we have planned for the future for Virtue In Vain and I can’t wait to get it all out.
