Band Interview: Tradmrkd

Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with pop punk band, Tradmrkd!

1. How did you get started as a band?

Bands been around since 2014. It began as a muck about with mates just wanting to enjoy playing music. Badly. Very, very badly. We became serious with it in 2018. So, the band has been about for 6 or 7 years. The current line up of, Finlay Cardno, James Riddoch, Corey Finnie and Myself has been since late 2018. It was Finlay and I who began the band in 2014 with our mates.

2. How would you describe your sound?

The best way to describe our sound is pop punk or to be general east bay punk back in the 90s. we get told that we have a Green Day vibe to our sound.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

As a band, we have similar tastes in music and influences. From, Green Day, The Smiths, Ramones, Blink 182, Guns N Roses and the Buzzcocks; to name a few.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

As of yet we have not been directly affected by the rise of YouTube and music streaming. I would wish to believe it would be more of a help than a hinder; to be able to have our music streamed to as many people as possible sounds like more of a help than a hinder. However, we haven’t had this dilemma yet.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

There is nothing I enjoy more than making music but if I wasn’t making music then I’d be playing football or just gaming with my mates. Having fun is what I would probably be up to.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

As of yet we have no tours announced. However, we do have some exciting projects with other bands lined up. Musically, by the end of the year we hope to have an EP released. An album would be amazing as we have the material but we are saving that for when we can get good production and a decent following.
