Band Interview: The Last Element

Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with alternative metal band, The Last Element.

1. How did you get started as a band?

Nick, Jan and Robert have played together for approximately 6 years before they formed The Last Element with Jasper and Noah.

Each of us had experience with other bands and projects. Jan and Robert have the most experience with touring, recording bands and the music business, while Noah, Jasper and Nick make sure there is a good balance for the new, now and the current business. Together we make a great team!

When we started making music together we glued together quickly and created our own signature in songs and sound. We started practicing for live sets, did gigs and recorded a lot of songs! Without a doubt, for all of us, this is the best line-up we’ve ever been in.

2. How would you describe your sound?

We believe it’s all about emotion and capturing that true spirit. We would describe ourselves as heartfelt rock, some see it as core, others as nu-metal, that’s all good with us. All in all We just wanna say we sound like The Last Element. We believe we have quite an original sound. We did work very hard and are still polishing to make every release sound exciting and new. Each guitar riff each drumbeat and all the vocal melodies, they have their own place and meaning in each song.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

That’s a hard question, cause we aren’t one person, each member has been influenced by different bands. We look up to a lot of great artists, but they might be pop artists, they might be metal gods, or just very influential people, we don’t really mind, we just admire great musicians and each one of them inspired us a little.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

It helped our band a lot, we’ve been picked up multiple times by Spotify and Itunes on editorial playlists being featured along side the best of the best, for instance our latest single the devil has been placed in two editorial playlists; New Core and New Blood, in new core we are in line with some of our favourite artists like Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Falling in reverse and a lot more. All bands we love and admire.

So for us we are really happy with the support we’ve been getting on these platforms.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

For each his own! A lot of different things, some of us do a lot of sports, stuff like kitesurfing, kickboxing, snowboarding. Others are big film fanatics and all of us find our way in love and relationships, getting peace and tranquillity that way.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

We’ve got some exiting new things lined up! We are working on some amazing new tracks that we can’t wait to share. Furthermore we are working on new artwork and pictures and everything to be more inline with the music and meaning of our band. We really think 2021 is going to be a year full of great news from The Last Element, so we would say…. Be sure to follow us and check everything out!

Tours, we don’t know the whole corona thing has got most of the industry swamped, but when we have new opportunities we will hit the road for sure! We would love to finally see some of our fans again.
