Band Interview: Never Knew
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with melodic metalcore band, Never Knew.
1. How did you get started as a band?
I got started playing music with some of my best friends in high school. I started Never Knew at the beginning of 2019 as a way to better deal with my mental health. I collaborate with some amazing musicians on this project that really help me bring my ideas to life.
2. How would you describe your sound?
It has a few different elements to it. It has some; melodic metalcore, post-hardcore, emo and some ambience influences throughout.
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
For this project I would definitely have to say bands like Erra, Architects and Novelists have had a big influence.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
For sure. Streaming sites allow so much more people to discover music. Without it no one would be listening to my music right now.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
I’m more of a homebody, but I love watching movies. Especially horror movies of all kinds. Slashers, Sci-fi, Paranormal, the stranger the better, I like it all.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
Right now I’m just focusing on writing and releasing as much music as possible to share with whoever can connect to it.
