Band Interview: Keep This Up
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with pop-punk band, Keep This Up.
1. How did you get started as a band?
The band have been around nearly 2 years – I (Chris) started the band with someone who is no longer in the band. But when we auditioned for a drummer, we had Dan turn up with a full drum kit in the boot of a Ford KA and we hired him on the spot just because we were that impressed. A few months ago, Myself & Dan met Mike through mutual friends and he started as our bassist but then he changed to become our lead guitarist and backup vocalist.
2. How would you describe your sound?
We are a pop punk band, similar in sound to bands like Green Day, FOB, Sum 41 and Neck Deep.
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
Bands that have influenced us include FOB, Sum 41, State Champs and All Time Low.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
Definitely helped us, we’ve got more platforms to help push our music out and to allow more people to listen to us.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
When not making music, we have some other hobbies. Chris, for example, is a magician outside of the band.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
We plan (as soon as it’s safe to) to tour and gig as much as we can showing the world our music that we have written and are proud of. Meanwhile we will be recording as much as we can and continually writing.
