Band Interview: InSammer
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with alternative rock band, InSammer.
1. How did you get started as a band?
Back in time I (Vika, vocal) was looking for a guitar teacher and found Dennis. We decided to create music together because we had many common musical tastes. The very first line up recorded InSammer first album “Numbers as Victims”. Then different musicians entered and left the band, until our second album Seeds when Oleg Izotov came to the studio to record some guitars and played a few gigs as a session guitar player. The band members liked his personality and he is still a part of the band. Then a super bass player Nikita and an awesome drummer Alex joined the band.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Alternative rock with a great female vocals, awesome guitars, mega bass, violent drums and super positive vibes! Rock On!
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
We are from Stockholm, Sweden, it’s a cold and dark country with fantastic beauty of nature. Swedish music market is huge with many good bands like Sabaton, Meshuggah, InFlames, and others around. It’s kind of a challenge to make cool music when you’re on the market with high competitors’ activity. You need to be a better version of yourself to be demanded by fans.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
Definitely we use all YouTube features to promote our music and our videos. It’s a great network to connect you to your fans. We feel great support of our fans in comments under new videos. Also YouTube is a cool motivation to do more new videos. Streaming platforms are another good services to get your music to fans in faster and easy way. Your fans can listen to your music from all over the world.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
When we are looking for some creativity, me and Dennis go to a small village in the north of Sweden to catch some inspiration. The beauty of nature in this cold northern part of Scandinavia give us ideas for many songs. Our drummer Nikita is a huge fan of flight simulators, our guitarist Oleg is reading a lot about cosmos, stars and astronomy.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
Our fans from Latin America gave us the idea that our track Seeds from the second album can be easily translated into Spanish. Our friend, great vocalist and guitarist Yasmani Silva made very cool lyrics in Spanish and we are working hard on recording this track. La Semilla (Seeds) will be ready in 2022.
