Band Interview: Eden Echo

Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with melodic metal band, Eden Echo.




1. How did you get started as a band?

We began out of a mutual obsession (Between our Drummer Ty and Guitar/Vocalist Matt) with the heavy metal and rock legends like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin… almost three years have passed since then and now we’re well on our way to carving out a sound of our own novel design.

2. How would you describe your sound?

Melodic Heavy Metal infused with retro metal/rock sensibilities and progressive elements.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

So many, including Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Mastodon, Opeth, Dio, and more!

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

It’s a complicated question… the way I see it these structures are here to stay, and we’ll do everything within our power to thrive because of, or in spite of these while adhering to our vision.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

We’re all quite different across the other dimensions of our lives… Some of us Enjoy movies, books, video games and all forms of escapist artwork, one of the members is a video game developer and another is a business student.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

We look forward to touring and expanding our reach as soon as circumstances allow! Until then we look forward to the release of our anticipated debut LP “ Hourglass” coming December 2020 and are already writing music for the future.
