Band Interview: Cynic Cult
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with progressive rock/metal band. Cynic Cult.
1. How did you get started as a band?
Shay: I had been collecting a bunch of demos over the last couple of years and finally decided to turn it into something more serious, Tommy then came in as a vocalist and it worked out perfectly.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Tommy: I would describe our sound as progressive with a slight metal edge.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
Shay: Tool, Nine inch nails, Devin Townsend, A perfect circle, Karnivool, and a hell of a lot more.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
Shay: For us personally, it is a massive help. We only properly formed last year, so with all the lockdowns and everything that has happened with Covid, YouTube and everything else has helped us get the name out there bigtime.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
Tommy: When I’m not making music I’m listening to it. Been addicted to music from a very young age, if I can hear it, I’m humming or singing it.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
Shay: For now, we keep writing and releasing material. We are sitting on a lot of work at the moment so we will be kept quite busy in that sense, but when we are ready to gig then it’s on!
