Band Interview: Chaoseum
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with nu-metal/metalcore band, Chaoseum!
1. How did you get started as a band?
With Loïc, we wanted to create a band with as main goal, a kind of music made for the stage. We asked Greg to join us and the band was born in January 2018 in Switzerland. CK Smile came later, in February 2019.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Our first album offers various songs between hard-rock and metalcore’s style with a female voice. Our next album, will be released this fall, is more Nu metal and metalcore.
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
At the beginning, Bullet For My Valentine and a lot of heavy metal bands. For the futur album and with CK on vocals, our songs sounds like Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Korn and Slipknot.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
We use it to share our music, not to earn money. This is a promotional opportunity. The business of music changed and we have to use the new method. For sure, we will never see a guy with a tie around the neck and a suitcase full of dollars during a concert to propose a contract in the 21st century.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
I spend a lot of my time with my family. Sometimes I go running. And as we rehearse only before a tour, sometimes with the members of Chaoseum, we eat something together. These moments are also important.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
Really soon, a new video.
On September 25th, the new album will be out, with two release party in Switzerland. Our European tour with Fleshgod Apocalypse and Ex-Deo is postponed to Autumn 2021.
