Band Interview: Arcadian Haze
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with self-described ‘grit pop’ band, Arcadian Haze.
1. How did you get started as a band?
It all started in 2017… Tye and Rosey worked together at Royal Mail; had both been in previous bands and wanted to start something new so it was kind of inevitable. Tye asked the bass player (Jamie) from his former band A.K.A Pipeline to join and Rosey got his old drummer (Gilby) from his former band Gaia. Nathan also worked at Royal Mail and had a wasted talent for rapping so it was a no brainer to get him involved.
2. How would you describe your sound?
It’s somewhere between classic British guitar bands and the 90s hip-hop scene, we call it ‘Grit Pop’.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
The Streets, The Stone Roses, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Happy Mondays, Beastie Boys and many more.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
It’s all we’ve known as Arcadian Haze the influx of Music and Social media platforms so it’s pretty hard to answer as we haven’t got life without it to compare with. I certainly wouldn’t say it’s hindered us though; we’ve got a really interactive fan base and it’s always nice to communicate and share new content with them.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
Spending time with the family, getting pissed, watching football… anything other than work!
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
We’re actually embarking on our first world tour next week starting in Europe and then heading out to Asia, Australia and finishing in the Americas… wouldn’t that be nice! Yeah I think like most bands out there the dreams to keep making music and taking it as far as we can, just to earn enough to be able to leave our mundane 9-5 jobs is the main goal, anything after that is a bonus.
