Artist Interview: Processor

1. How did you get started as a band?

It’s just me Johan Isaksson my artist name is Processor. Independent electronic music producer. Home studio dude. Started doing music with Atari 1040 around 1990 mostly cinematic music in the beginning recording on cassettes just for fun. 1998 I bought a PC with a dedicated sound card and was more into drum and base music. 2004 I released the album Insomnia on the label Magnatune more into industrial/Breaks. 2011 I started my own label Processor. Now more into house/Synth. 2022 I’m blending everything regarding genres. Rock. Metal. Industrial. Synth. Pop. Cinematic. 14 albums and 82 singles released so far and more to come!

2. How would you describe your sound?

Distorted industrial rock/metal/electronic.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

Depeche Mode, Health and Hans Zimmer.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

YouTube hasn’t done anything but naturally Spotify has done a lot. Since I mainly produced music and don’t go on tours.

 

 

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

Reading books and eating good food.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

Recently: 29th April – Remix of Rex Acrum called “Owe it to my self”. May 12th – Single from Small Civil War & Processor called “Blankets”. Then: May 26th – Single from Modesty Beast & Processor called “Bleak”. Rock/Metal original material good driven shit.
