Album Review: Trouble Is – Wholehearted (Target Records)
Danish modern blues-rock duo Trouble Is will release their debut album ‘Wholehearted’ on the 6th August 2021 via Target Records.
Rock music to chill out too, Wholehearted has a ton of authenticity to it. Meaning that Trouble Is are easily capable of paying homage to the forebearers of blues-rock while still sounding fresh and modern. Putting it simply, Trouble Is are no tribute act and Wholehearted stands out for being its own thing.
Its own fun and super-relaxing thing. The pair that make up the band (aside from their live performances) really nail what it means to sound both rocking and suitably bluesy. It’s warm, summery music on the one hand but pensive and reflective on the other. The beautiful combination of ripper riffs and weathered but soulful vocals.
There’s not a lot to say about this album. It’s thoroughly enjoyable and perfect listening for a short and stress-free walk or drive. Trouble Is are a talented duo and they absolutely deliver on the promise of memorable blues-rock music.
