Album Review: Tomb Mold – Planetary Clairvoyance (20 Buck Spin)

Recklessly devouring the world into a vortex of alternate dimensional planes with “Manor Of Infinite Forms”, Tomb Mold has crashed through boundaries with the impact of an ocean sized asteroid.

Mold

Somewhere between outer space, inner space and the unseen dark matter in between all space they’ve devised an alchemical formula both crushingly oppressive and rapidly expanding outward in every direction.

Waking from stasis for the third time in three years, new record “Planetary Clairvoyance” is the sum total of knowledge gained and aeons absorbed, concentrated into a single massive tome of arcane wisdom and implausible physics. Like the album’s cover art, it exists in a domain of alien anatomical abnormality, malign flora and cold void desolation, warping and deforming the familiar into unknown obscurity.

It’s out on July 19th 2019 via 20 Buck Spin.

Before a single note has been played, it’s pretty obvious that this is an epic of a death metal record. One that reaches the filthiest and goriest of depths. By pushing the limits of what is to be expected by the extreme side of metal. Seven huge, awe-inspiring and encompassing pieces of vile and sickening noise. It will churn your stomach but like a child at a theme park, you won’t want to stop until you’re blowing chunks all over the place.

The crusted riffs and vocals of Beg For Life bears so much weight down that when it momentarily breaks for a little bit of melodic guitars the relief felt is intense. That is how heavy Tomb Mold are. You only need to hear Infinite Resurrection to have your mind changed if you weren’t convinced. This track more than any other reaching grind levels of ferocity.

They’re not short and sharp jabs either. Accelerative Phenomenae is 6 and a half minutes, while Heat Death is about 11 seconds shorter. These are prolonged beatings that Tomb Mold are dishing out and it will break even the toughest of extreme metal fans out there.
