Album Review: The Eating Cave – Ingurgitate (Self Released)
Virginia Beach, VA technical death-metal band The Eating Cave are now ready to unleash their massively brutal debut album “Ingurgitate”, due out on June 10th, 2022.
Stupidly brutal, stupendously aggressive, sickeningly noisy and sharply technical, The Eating Cave mesh together the wonderful world of heaviness and technicality. Unleashing a scorching discharge of steaming, vomitus savagery over eight meaty and mean tracks.
That’s not hyperbole either. A ton of adjectives can go some way to explaining the impression this level of ruthlessness gives but it doesn’t necessarily clarify how it makes you feel. Of course, like all extreme metal, it isn’t going to be everyone’s taste but those with an appetite for a more monstrous sound, will be in heaven.
What makes Ingurgitate a bit more than a ‘par for the course’ blast of heavy is the technical edge the band delivers. Every single track, a flurry of wild instrumentation that has a chaotic energy but is delivered in such a measured and composed fashion, you can only marvel at The Eating Cave’s abilities. It’s this, that will keep you coming back for more and more.
Pick a track, pick your poison, pick the beating you fancy taking… there’s nothing coy here. All eight tracks are as vicious as the other, each track comes with a cacophony of gut-churning vocals and each track leaves you feeling black and blue all over.
An astoundingly good debut.
