Album Review: Svederna – Härd (Carnal Records)
August 28th 2020 marks the return of Svederna with their new album, Härd, consisting of ten blistering tracks of supreme black metal.
With the addition of permanent bass player Simon Frödeberg Karlin, Svederna has come full circle with four instrumentalists writing and performing at the peak of their competence in a group effort. Created with a sense of timelessness and this strong core as an outset, Härd is a result of dedication and conviction taking the band and its music to new musical plains.
Härd will be released on CD and digital format through Carnal Records on August 28th 2020, with a vinyl release planned later in the year.
The demons that giggle and tease from the shadows. Monstrosities aiming to drive you to insanity. Twisted and evil, the goal is to leave you a blubbering mess that begs for the end just so you can have peace.
Those demons have a name and it is Svederna. Emerging to spread their evil through the mind and souls of all with their new album, Härd.
Focused on delivering a beastly black metal effort, Svederna have one eye on the past and the other on the fires of hell that they themselves have forged. Ten tracks of skin-melting, flesh-flaying and bone-crushing brutality. It is little more than that but that’s certainly not a complaint. How could it be? This is black metal and black metal done well.
With the year being so dominated by death metal (excellent death metal too), it’s always a pleasure to take a walk on the darker side. Svederna are our guides, even if their intentions are yet to be fully revealed. Who cares though. Just enjoy it and take in all the horrific splendours.
