Album Review: Satan’s Fall – Final Day (High Roller Records)
After “Past Of …”, a collection of their entire output so far, Satan’s Fall shoot for the stars with their debut album, Final Day. Out on December 11th 2020.
Denim and leather, it’s what Satan’s Fall have wardrobes full of and exactly what they gaudily dress their new album Final Day in. Unashamedly plying an old-school heavy metal trade with the twist of speed metal littered throughout.
From the mammoth sized riffing that sets the speed to the bass/drums that control the beat to the vocals that match it all with high-pitched vigour, this is an album to head-bang too. When you’re getting such frenzied solos as found on Madness (Finds a Way) and The Flamekeeper it’s impossible to not take part in a wild bout of neck-breaking movement.
Elsewhere chuggy riffing, wild hooks and massive choruses ensure this is a constantly moving and entertaining listen. The likes of Retribution and There Will Be Blood sound so immense. 35 odd minutes flying by in a blur of heavy freaking metal.
