Album Review: Perveration – Putrefaction of Infinite Apogee (Comatose Music)

Indonesia’s Perveration follow up their 2021 debut ‘Perversion in Manifest Disease’ with a new offering of brutal death metal called ‘Putrefaction of Infinite Apogee’. Out on February 2nd, 2024, via Comatose Music.

Aiming for the high bar of ‘most brutal’ release of the year, Perveration bring forth the sound of blood and guts being spilled with this new album. Delivering rawness that is disconcerting, but appeals to the primal urges. Urges that make you want to go a bit wild, and leave a trail of bloody corpses in your wake.

Simplicity in all its brutal death metal forms, Putrefaction of Infinite Apogee isn’t aiming to change the world, it’s just aiming to leave it that little bit darker and colder. Featuring a non-stop barrage of viciousness that lives up to the genre name to the point of amusement. Ten tracks, ten examples of manic heaviness, ten choice cuts of putrefying flesh, and ten ways to have your mind beaten into a gory pulp.

From the booming instrumental intensity and horror layers of Bacterium Decomposition, to the absurdity of appalling noise that comes from Eviscerated Innards. To the vomit-inducing (that intro alone will turn stomachs) Damaging Excrement, the stompy head-banger that is Necrocannibalism, the bowel-loosening Devouring Voraciously, and the unrelenting savagery of Abominable Dismembered. Perveration assault, assault, and then fucking assault the senses some more.

As far as providing the nastiest of nasty goes, Perveration do not disappoint. Although, it can’t be stressed enough that this record is as ‘no frills’ as it gets and leans completely towards the most extreme ends of the death metal scale. Think you can’t handle it? You’re probably right.
