Album Review: Organic – Where Graves Abound (Testimony Records)

Almost three years after their crushing debut “Carved in Flesh”, Old School Death Metal Maniacs Organic are ready to release their sophomore full-length, entitled “Where Graves Abound”! It will be released on October 22nd via Testimony Records.

Expecting no-nonsense? The light choir singing at the start of Ropedragger might confuse but fear not, it doesn’t take long for Organic to bring the straight-forward old-school death to the forefront. Where they then keep it, shoving it in faces and demanding you do nothing but lose your absolute shit to it.

An easy request to adhere to, as this opening track is a wild and uncouth blast of fast and heavy noise. The same goes for the following Waste Monolith, Schizophrenic Execution, Caging in a Tomb and Fall, Rot. The first half of the album; a raging, spitting, snarling and blood-thirsty beast.

Playing their instruments as hard and as heavy as humanly possible, it’s a powerful wave of fury that washes over and few will be able to keep their head above the water.

More speed, more heaviness and more death-centric brutality is the name of the game in the second half of the album too. Unsurprisingly; the title track, Die Schwanzdirn, The Howling and Knives make no changes to a winning formula and that’s fine. Organic’s Where Graves Abound does exactly what it says on the tin. Nothing game-changing but nothing to complain about either. It’s a head-banger to let some aggression out too.
