Album Review: Organ Dealer – The Weight Of Being (Everlasting Spew Records)
US grindcore marauders Organ Dealer are back with ‘The Weight Of Being’, due to be released by Everlasting Spew Records on CD/tape and digital on July 28th, 2023.
With the longest track coming in at 1 minute and 49 seconds and the shortest at a hilarious 3 seconds, you kind of know what you’re in for here. Organ Dealer are all about grindcore at its most ferocious, perverse, and horrible sounding.
This 21-track album is the sound of madness. Manic and monstrous madness. From the very start, Organ Dealer move with the frenzy of a starving animal that is eyeing up your calf as its next meal. To call it enjoyable is a stretch, purely because it suffers immensely from repetitiveness. Even if each short and sharp blast has an innate appeal because it is so straight-forwardly intense.
It is a matter of fact that you’ve got to have a penchant for grindcore to love what Organ Dealer are doing here. However, that shouldn’t overshadow the fact they are one of the best at it. As far as chaos and carnage goes, there are few better than Organ Dealer and that is reflected in the overall quality of The Weight of Being.
Fancy something unrelenting? Something punishing, pulverising, and constantly pugnacious? Make an appointment with Organ Dealer now.
