Beginning in heart-racing and in a massively anthemic way, Luna Kills set themselves a near-impossible bar with the manic brilliance of love u. Showcasing the immense power in their alternative sound, smartly accessible, combining wild and heavy rhythms with pop and electronica twisted melodies. It’s a track that sets the senses alight and guarantees that those who are coming in new to this band will be in love right away.

A love that will only deepen as LEECH ups the noisy antics of Luna Kills, disconcertingly so, as the effects are also outrageously intense. It’s a flagrant display of infectious heaviness, which alongside the thumping SADIST, shows just how confident Luna Kills are in their sound. Brave enough to experiment, especially when it comes to electronica, but still focused on delivering distinguishable and distinct alternative metal elements.

There’s another massive anthemic highlight with sugar rush, a dance-floor filler for sure, but not lacking in metallised power either, topped off with a cool sounding guitar solo. Then along comes slay ur enemies, a defiant chorus driven listen that will have everyone, from the crustiest of old metallers to the most EDM bopping of teens, screaming along to the chorus. An easy track to predict going off hard in the live environment, especially when the breakdown hits.

It’s an album filled with vivid and vast energy, and it comes at you fast and hard. With hallucinate, Luna Kills keeps the heat turned up high, even if it is one of the less remarkable tracks overall. Then, WAVES’ early flurry of electronica mixes things up, but this one still ends up being a hefty metal effort. Before get mad and burn the world with me takes us up to the end (almost) in style.

The former’s explosivity and vitriolic lyrics will make the brain rattle around the head, and you’ll love it. Especially as it has some creative twists and turns. Whereas the latter just goes so freaking hard. It’s as simple as that, and chances are, you’ll be all in on the mania too.

Finally, and to cap off a statement making album, it’s fever dream and it’s an apt title. Not just for this uniquely melodic track, but the album as a whole. An album that is impressively varied, cleverly structured, and energetically showcased.
