Album Review: Lechery – We Are All Born Evil (Bleeding Music Records)

Lechery was formed in 2006 by Martin Bengtsson (former Arch Enemy bass player) & play face-melting classic heavy metal. Their new album ‘We Are All Born Evil’ will be released on the 19th of January 2018 via Bleeding Music Records.

Lechery 2

All about head-banging riffs, fist-thumping choruses & scorching guitar solos, the new album from Lechery is ten tracks of Accept, Dream Evil & Judas Priest inspired tunes.

Heavy Metal Invasion lays the groundwork with a meaty beat that creates an image of metal warriors playing on top of mountain while fire rains from the sky & armies battle it out below. A serious call to arms, it thrills especially with a thunderous guitar solo.

Let it Out & the title track keep things fairly exciting before Rule the World pulls out all the stops with mammoth-sized riffs & a nice layer of snarl to the vocals. It’s this that gets a good run of tracks started as Hold On to the Night brings a wickedly good level of groove, Breaker of Chains adds a thrashier rhythm and Sacrifice gets the blood-boiling thanks to chant of “SAC-RIF-ICE”.

A galloping riff that drips feel-good atmosphere & catchiness ensures Even a Hero Must Die does the job. Before the final double header of the ripping Spineless & the fiery Tip of the Whip keeps the head-banging going.

As the final notes ring out it becomes clear that Lechery are a band filled with confidence. We Are All Born Evil is a hell of an effort, weighted nicely towards the old school but sounding fresher then ever.
