Album Review: Kobold – Death Parade (Iron Blood & Death corp)

Death Parade was originally released in 2017 but had gotten a new lease on life thanks to a re-release by the Mexican label, Iron Blood & Death corp. The debut album from Serbian band Kobold, its 15 tracks (including an Exciter cover) of thrash/speed metal.

Kobold 2

Don’t let their short time as a band fool you (active since 2015), Kobold have more confidence, style and swagger then most bands do after 10 years!

Don’t expect any surprises here though, what we have solid speed metal with plenty of thrash thrown in to shake things up. Kobold play fast and heavy music. Madman’s Overture, the title track, Fake, Random Acts of Violence…from the get-go it’s every bit as frantic as you would expect and could hope.

In fact it’s not until NWO that things really slow down and even that’s brief as the 2-odd minute track erupts into screeching guitars. Simply put Kobold don’t do slow and why should they when they’re throwing out quality metal like this?

There’s not a lot to really say. It’s 14 tracks of top-shelf hyper-metal with a fun cover of Exciter’s Stand Up and Fight thrown in for good measure.
