Album Review: Kill Everything / Necroticgorebeast / Virulent Excision / Gorepot – Acts of Sadistic Cruelty (Comatose Music)

Four rabid attacks, four blows of the hammer…one colossal onslaught of brutal death! Comatose Music have brought together four imposing monsters from the furthest extremes of death metal to create Acts of Sadistic Cruelty – a twelve track split album of unprecedented savagery and hideous intent. Featuring Kill Everything, NecroticGoreBeast, Virulent Excision and Gorepot, the split album will be released on August 19th, 2022.

Don’t take this album too seriously, the four bands involved certainly aren’t. Although that shouldn’t underplay the skill and talents involved in making this record. After all, it takes a special kind of band to sound this ruthless and this sickening.

The first third of the album is all about Kill Everything and they unleash hell with three tracks that can simply be summed up as the most ear-aching, gut-trembling, sphincter-tightening brutal death metal you may have ever heard. The deep percussion and blistering pace is enough to make you cry.

Hold back the tears though as, not to be outdone, here comes NecroticGoreBeast with three more tracks of eye-watering noise. Less serrated but incredibly sharp, NecroticGoreBeast slice through skin, flesh and muscle with precision rather than hacking away at the body. This is a band, who dare it be said, are just a cut above their BDM album-mates. Their section of the album is the most thrilling, while being undeniably intense too.

With only two tracks, Virulent Excision could be overlooked, if it wasn’t for the fact that these monsters deliver blood-curdling devastation with their brand of brutal death metal. A refined example of heavy and intense noise, they might be the most serious sounding of the bands on this album.

Something that certainly doesn’t apply to Gorepot, who make up the latter part of the album with four tracks on offer.

What’s in a title? Not a lot but sometimes, just sometimes, you can get an idea of what you’re in for when you see a band name or a track title. In this case, it’s a band with their tongue jammed in their cheek and delivering the most uncouth blasts of noise possible. Near unlistenable at times, take that for what it is, Gorepot don’t care.

An example of the strength in the BDM scene without anyone stepping out of the genre boundaries. Acts of Sadistic Cruelty is a celebration of the blood and guts that seep from the fresh corpses created by this sound. The four bands on show here are the knife wielders and those smiles on their faces are for their next victims.
