Album Review: Keverra – Keverra (Seeing Red Records)
Keverra are a special band from Southern California that features current and ex members of -16- and Goatsnake. Their self-titled album will be released on May 1st, 2020. Shockingly aggressive, heavy as balls, and vicious to the core, Keverra are about to surprise the metal world.
With intent, Albion has plenty of aggression about it but worms its way into the brain with a consistent and exciting beat. The drums are on absolute fire here, the guitars causing heart palpitations and the vocals horrifyingly twisted sounding. It’s got a ton of interesting rhythm while also being uncompromising in its heavy assault.
Having certainly got the attention, Incendiare is one of a few ‘intermission’ style tracks. Breaking apart the constant battering that Keverra mesh out with the likes of Bathsheba, Tioga and No God.
It’s not a long album but that works in its favour as the slow-tempo harshness does begin to melt the brain into mush as it goes on. Even with the uncomfortable effects that pop up throughout on the likes of Bitter Air of Exile and Funerary.
