Album Review: Jaime Kyle – Wild One (Self Released)
The Goddess of hard rock – Jaime Kyle. A legendary artist. Who will release her brand-new album ‘Wild One’ on November 25th, 2022.
The term ‘legend’ gets thrown around a bit to easily these days but there are times when the moniker is more than deserved. One such time is when talking about Jaime Kyle. A singer/songwriter who has done it all… and then some. A trailblazer for women in rock, Jaime Kyle has had an immeasurable amount of success over her many years in the music industry to date.
Something that looks to continue as 2022 comes to an end and Jaime Kyle has a new solo album. One that features 12 tracks of heartfelt, honest, foot-tapping and finger-snapping rock.
An energised and catchy start in the form of the title track bleeds into the exceptional Driving with the Brakes On. A track that features Kris Barras on guitar. A blues-infused rock number with a chorus that can rightfully be called one hell of a singalong. This is the stuff all fans of rock can enjoy.
Variety is the spice of life though and with Change, Blue Night and Perfect Love, Jaime Kyle showcases how much she has in her arsenal. From bassy groove to mournful melodies to country-rock twangs and so much more. It’s incredibly listenable music and a lot of that comes from Kyle’s vocal range. Showcasing a smooth, fragile, but powerful voice.
The enjoyment of this album continues as Lie delivers lyrical gold and guitar-focused punctuation. Kiss Dirt is a track to get the body moving, Not About Love is all about genuine blues-infused emotion, Body of Gold has a modern groove to it and Dirty Goodbye is a return to the pure, unbridled energy of Kyle’s rock base. Track after track of radio-friendly and all-encompassing music.
There’s no arguing with the potential popularity of this record as it really does have wide-spread appeal. Jaime Kyle has worked hard to earn the respect she has got in the music industry and that extends when she continues to produce music this enjoyable. Even when things could be sounding a bit tired, there’s still plenty left in the tank. Namely the melodrama of Broken and the peppiness of Happy Town. A great pairing to wrap the album up with.
