Album Review: indifferentMonKey – Love & Peace (Self Released)
Out now, Love & Peace is the debut album from alt-rock/trip-hop award-winning (best band – Radio Wig Wam/Jamma Music Awards) band indifferentMonKey.
I won’t pretend, after listening to this album, that I fully understand what ‘trip-hop’ is, but I do know I can enjoy a lot of it. indifferentMonKey proudly wear their alternative badge for all to see and with Love & Peace aim to capture the hearts and minds of a wide-ranging audience.
I’m not going to pretend that fans of heavier music are going to like this. That would be a mistake. It certainly has more appeal for fans of EDM, hip-hop, and pop. It can just about squeak by on this website because of its alt-rock elements. However, if you’re a person that prides themselves on having a more open mind, Love & Peace has a lot of appealing elements about it. None more obvious than the infectious and varied number of anthems that appear on this debut.
You don’t even have to be in the right mood for Love & Peace either as indifferentMonKey have strong mood-altering abilities. In a bad mood before you hit play? You might find yourself feeling that little bit cheerier. Feeling a bit lethargic? You might have a bit of extra pep in your step afterwards.
It’s fair to say that everyone that does give the album a go will remember indifferentMonKey, which is all the more impressive when you consider this is their debut album.
