Album Review: Hexivoid – The Beckoning Of Celestial Tendrils (MSH Music Group/Analog Ragnarok)
The 2nd album of Cosmic Black Metal masters Hexivoid is here. Continuing the otherworldly depravity of “Disdain From A Burning Cosmos“, this new entity entitled “The Beckoning Of Celestial Tendrils” has not only the same dissonance but an even more focal, savage sound. Coming on July 25th 2020 via MSH Music Group, become one with the cosmic, become one with death…
Containing the skin crawling horror that was the embodiment of Disdain From A Burning Cosmos, Hexivoid are just as twisted and evil as before. Although, there is a fair bit more to grasp and battle with here.
The black metal dread is heightened to impossibly high levels with the dissonant opener, The Unreverberate Blackness of the Abyss. Before the worlds that separate ancient and cold things crumble for Daughter of the Cosmos. The drawl of guitars aided on a malevolent journey by echoing howls.
A journey that takes us through the madness of The Luminescent Clouds of Nithon and to the petrifying sight that is Reptilian Sarcophagus. Both capable of driving a person mad through the sheer black metal power exuded by Hexivoid.
It makes the Beckoning of Celestial Tendrils almost welcoming as it signals an end. A horrifying end, one where the smashing of instruments seems to have been the only goal. However, the true conclusion comes with Liquid Gulfs of Infinity, The haunting sound of ancient winds blowing through the mind before Hexivoid disrupt the cold peace with their stoic maliciousness.
As harsh as their previous work, it is an evolved Hexivoid here.
