Album Review: Eoront – Another Realm (Aural Music/Code 666)
Atmospheric black metal based in Siberia, Another Realm is the new album from Eoront. It will be released on June 16th 2017 via Aural Music & Code666.
7 songs but over an hour in length, Another Realm is a haunting journey through darkness. One filled with beautiful highs & devastating lows. It will stay with you long after the final notes have played out.
The bleakness begins with the haunting intro of The Rain. It builds & builds before the evil sounding black metal comes out of nowhere. A furious sound but one still built on wonderful atmosphere.
The blackened metal riffs, the melodic drops & ambient background sounds, the evil vocal range, there is a meatiness to the music throughout Another Realm. Two Worlds & Genesis showcases this perfectly. The former is a banging black metal track with some nice disjointed riffing & thought-provoking melody. The latter is as modern black metal as you can get, throwing in some interesting psychedelic effects near the end.
Even though Another Realm is an ambient black metal album it does lean towards towards the darker & heavier side of the sound.
The melodic moments make the album special, blended in nicely with the blackness. The Glow & The Sea are both fantastic examples of this. The latter gives a midway haunting background sound with some great guitar work. This part is incredible & really uplifting. The standout song of the album.
The album ends on The Order of the Light, 10 minutes combining all the elements we’ve heard so far. Heavy but packed with so much rhythm & a wickedly haunting melody near the end. Fantastic finish to a fantastic album. A very memorable listen.
