Album Review: Dreadful Fate – Vengeance (I Hate Records/To The Death)
On June 15th 2018 Dreadful Fate will unleash Vengeance upon mankind as a co-release between I Hate Records and To The Death!
Short and stabbing jabs to the mind, Dreadful Fate’s new release is a fetid 8 tracker filled with roaring thrash heaviness while drifting into the death metal territory and more. Frantic and purpose filled, the whirlwind of noise takes a few tracks to settle down.
Both the title track and Death Sentence don’t do much except make you hope that things get better. Which they do with the more listenable tempo of Altar of Cruelty and the slamming head-banging enjoyment that comes from Unholy Lust.
While both are a marked improvement, Vengeance as a whole ends up falling flat. Just not that inspired and far too much of a retread of thrash infused death metal we’ve heard for countless years. Are Dreadful Fate good at it? Absolutely! There is no doubting that!
Tracks like Witches Hammer and Eternal Fire are all about furious head-banging metal that rouses the spirit.
