Album Review: Depraved Murder – Unethical Terrestrial Collapse (Comatose Music)

Depraved Murder, the embodiment of brutal death metal, will release their brand-new album ‘Unethical Terrestrial Collapse’ on March 10th, 2023, via Comatose Music.

Hailing from East Java, Depraved Murder are a no-frills, no-chill, and no-f**ks given kind of BDM band. What it lacks in complexities, it makes up for in sheer manic heavy power. Delivering 9 tracks of bloody, bristling, and brutal heaviness that comes at the listener with such speed and force, you can’t help but flinch.

The raging ferocity is on full and garishly brilliant show with Entering Into Calamity, before Depraved Murder somehow take the intensity up an extra notch with The Anguish of Dystopian, and False Adoration. Each tome featuring frenzied instrumentation and guttural vocalisation. The first third of this album hits hard enough to make you cough up blood.

It doesn’t get any more forgiving with Mass Murder Existence and Unmanifest Void though, Depraved Murder continuing to expel outrageous levels of ruthlessness. Yet, there’s something so appealing about the consistent ferociousness. The mind becomes numb to the brutality but not to the point of indifference. It is still undeniably interesting, as it continues to be expertly showcased.

By time The Pinnace of Vile Conceit brings a filthier and darker tempo to the forefront, the mind is nearing pulps levels. Having been battered over and over again. Yet, Depraved Murder can still surprise as this track has a killer guitar solo too.

An apt title, Relentless Brutality is exactly that, before the title track delivers a sonic soundscape that is reflective of the end of all things. Leading to Apocryphal Hymns, a finale with a just a touch of atmosphere, but without betraying the core aspect of the record, unyielding viciousness from beginning to end.
