Album Review: Dboy – New Records In Human Power (Dine Alone Records)

Having already shared the stage with bands like FIDLAR, Cancer Bats, The Flatliners and Single Mothers, Dboy are preparing the release of their second full-length record – a relentless, rollicking assault, a brief but bright manifesto from one of Canada’s most unique bands. New Records in Human Power doesn’t stop for a breath as Dboy crash and burn their way through 17 minutes of blistering punk. It will be released on February 14th 2020.

Hold on to your asses, Dboy aren’t hanging around here, spitting out 12 tracks of energetic punk rock as fast as possible. From the moment Why Do You Only Luv a Dboy (who’s down)? begins, they don’t let up and it’s pretty damn great.

While having a relentless and hyper-active approach, Dboy aren’t a messy punk band which makes them immediately more enjoyable. With strong instrumentation that is rough, raw but very listenable and vocals that have hardcore power behind them.

Gimps Don’t Limp, Dboy Sells Out!, Scavengers of Luv, Full On and Luv Will Always Find You (in the end) are just some of the highlights of this snarling little beast. A thoroughly enjoyable, no-nonsense piece of punk rock.
