Album Review: Cystectomy – Deprive to Hollowness (Comatose Music)
From a festering pool of nightmares comes a new name in ineffable, unknowable brutality. Cystectomy welcome you to experience the unnerving atmosphere and wanton savagery of Deprive to Hollowness. Your chance comes on November 5th, 2021 via Comatose Music.
An album of mental torment, Cystectomy deal in extreme noise and Deprive to Hollowness is the product of their uncompromising barbarity. It’s going to make you feel a bit sick but let’s be honest, that’s an aspect all metal fans enjoy.
Is it grind? Is it death? Is it thrash? Is it just fucking noise? Yes, to all of this and more. How fucking appealing is that? Excuse the swear words – it’s just the way this album makes you feel. It makes you feel angry, it makes you feel aggressive, it makes you feel disgusting in a delightfully gleeful way.
Ten tomes of horror, revulsion and hate. It’s blood-curdling and stomach-churning noise, so chances are you already know if this is the sort of thing that you’re going to enjoy.
Is it heavy? That’s being fucking kind. Turn this one up loud and your ear-drums are likely to erupt. It’s hard to know what to say about this album. It’s relentless and Cystectomy are such pros that the consistent ferocity they play at almost seems easy. Not only that, the inhuman vocals are so constant that they start to become akin to demonic chants and growls.
Have Cystectomy crawled from some hellish pit to subject us to their brand of sonic torture? You’re going to have to listen yourself to find out.
