Album Review: Capra – Capra (Self Released)

Violent fun with a vital message – a succinct summary of fresh faces Capra from Lafayette, southern Louisiana. With only two releases under their belt, they’ve already made waves in their immediate surroundings, and it’s clear why. This second release, self-titled, has two new songs to dig into.

The EP will be released on May 22nd 2020.

This is pretty intense, two tracks blasting out in around 7 minutes. It is savage hardcore noise, spat out by a band with a lot of axes to grind. A blend of the classic speed efforts of hardcore with the newer school level of fury, Torture Ship will blast the brain matter into pieces.

Touching on domestic violence in Paper Tongues, Capra make their feelings known with a very commanding, hyper-riffing and vocally barbed listen. The exact level of anger needed for Capra to get their point across. It’s bloody great.

Two banging modern hardcore tracks, the hunger for what Capra have is hardly sated.
