Album Review: Burial Remains – Trinity of Deception (Transcending Obscurity Records)
Burial Remains are one of the most promising old school death metal bands with members of Fleshcrawl, Grim Fate, etc. give us their debut full length titled ‘Trinity of Deception’.
Mixed and mastered by Jonny Pettersson of Wombbath, Heads For The Dead and more, with guest vocals by none other than Ralf Hauber of Revel In Flesh, Heads For The Dead, this is one death metal release that will send out shock waves in the underground.
Rooted in the old-school, Trinity of Deception is a raging tornado of riffs, filth-covered percussion and slime-drenched vocals. It is death metal…and it is as simple as that.
Seven tracks with the singular aim of blasting your brain out of your skull through the pure power and fury of them all. From the moment Crucifixion of the Vanquished begins to the moment Tormentor ends, this is a blood curdling release and one sure to please fans of the heaviest of heavy.
Of course there is more to the album, moments that add just an extra layer of savagery. Moments where the tempo shifts slightly to momentarily halt the barrage. It’s these that stop things sounding too samey even though it is still an album that promises destruction and delivers it.
