Album Review: Bind Torture Kill – Viscères (WOOAAARGH)
French Post-Hardcore three piece Bind Torture Kill will release their new piece of blackened post hardcore ‘Viscères’ on January 26th 2018 via WOOAAARGH.
The slow guitar groove of Fléau leaves you wide open for the ferocious assault that follows with Au fond du trou. A chaotic number that has all the hardcore elements you might expect, particularly in the vocals but as your senses adjust the sound begins to settle down & make sense.
The heaviness is mixed with a wickedly smart guitar groove that makes for a fascinating listen. Tracks like Nourrir le singe are brutalising affairs but filled with such catchy & exciting elements that you’re head will begin to nod along involuntarily.
The crunching drum beat of Perte et fracas, the passionate delivery of Sanguinaire & the impressive guitar riffing of Pestilence all bring such excellence to the hardcore metal party. The latter in particular with it’s slowly building finish is incredible.
It’s somewhat disappointing when the album comes to a close. Simply, Bind Torture Kill have created a masterpiece of modern post-hardcore & the final track, Abject is the cherry on top of the most delicious cake. All the savageness heard so far pales in comparison to this yet it’s such a rhythmically structured track at the same time.
An absolute belter of an album.
